Paradental cyst mimicking a periodontal pocket – a conservative treatment approach ( case report

چکیده
A seven years old boy visited our clinic with a periodontal problem related to an erupting lower molar. The tooth showed a 15 mm deep periodontal pocket on the buccal aspect. A microbiologic DNA-test excluded a periodontal origin. The treatment consisted in a local antimicrobial therapy with cleaning and filling up of the pocket with Atridox. Two years after therapy the pocket completely disappeared. Finding periodontal pockets on freshly erupted teeth with acute symptomatic, a cyst should be kept in mind as diagnosis. This could prevent surgical endodontal or periodontal therapy. Minimal therapy with local antibiotics can effectively manage this problem.

Marsupialization of Juvenile Paradental Cyst: A Case Report
Paradental cysts are rare cystic lesions that develop on buccal, distal and rarely mesial side of the mandibular permanent molars in the period of their eruption. They belong to the group of inflammatory cysts and constitute less than 5% of all odontogenic cysts [1]. Most often they are associated with recurrent pericoronitis of semi-impacted wisdom teeth (61.4%) at the time of their eruption, ...

Fusion is an abnormality of tooth development defined as the union of two developing dental germs, resulting in a single large dental structure. This irregular tooth morphology is associated with a high predisposition to dental caries and periodontal diseases. As a result of recurring inflammatory periodontal processes, disorders such as periodontal pocket, pericoronitis, and paradental cysts m...

The inflammatory paradental cyst (IPC) is a relatively rarely reported lesion arising from the lateral periodontium of vital teeth. However, IPC appear to be under-represented in registers of odontogenic cysts due to the misinterpretation of IPC as infected dentigerous cysts, in particular IPC originating from third molars. IPCs exhibit some temporospatial associations with tooth eruptions and ...

Abstract BACKGROUNackground and aimD & AIM: Keratinized odontogenic cyst is a developmental odontogenic cyst that is mainly due to dental lamina. This cyst has the nature of local invasion and high recurrence. There are several therapeutic measures to control the recurrence of this cyst in studies. One of the conservative approaches is to use an enucleation followed by decompression techn...
متن کاملA Case Report of Asymptomatic Glandular Odontogenic Cyst Mimicking as a Nasopalatine Duct Cyst
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Glandular odontogenic cyst is a rare developmental odontogenic cyst which most frequently occures in mandible. According to low incidence and unusual shape and location of this case, we decided to report the case. CASE REPORT: Here we present an asymptomatic case in anterior part of maxilla that radiographically was small and unilacular mimicking as a nasopalatine du...
